Stonehouse OAP shivers for 2 weeks while waiting for boiler repair

A Lanarkshire pensioner was left without heating for a fortnight and needed to be hurried into medical facility after turning blue. Lesley Gardiner (69) resides in a protected real estate complex in Stonehouse, run by South Lanarkshire Council. She reported her busted boiler to the council on December 30. An engineer came out that day however did not repair her boiler and said it required a part.Find more on plumber in cullompton .

She was gone to once again on Hogmanay however the boiler was still not repaired. Lesley invested the next week wrapped up in bed aiming to reduce the effect of the cold. However the pensioner, who experiences arthritis and heart problems, was not able to cope.


Chesterville town meeting is this evening

The yearly town meeting will be held this evening at the town office, with homeowners enjoying the traditional Heritage Society supper before weighing in on $843,000 in proposed expenditures.

That would be roughly $40,000 less than the present, resulting in the town coming under the $510,000 LD1 Property Tax Levy Limit by $16,500. Public Works includes among the biggest reductions, from $437,000 down to $385,000, primarily through reductions in proposed equipment appropriations. That budget does include $100,000 in local appropriations, augmented by $42,000 in state funds to improve the north end of Zions Hill Road, as well as Chesterville Hill Road and then Borough Road, if financing permits.

$180M repair backlog at Springfield, Du Quoin fairgrounds

A budget from Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner details a $180 million backlog in repairs and maintenance for the state fairgrounds in Springfield and Du Quoin.

The plan states that if the backlog is allowed to go on, it will make it a growing number of hard for the centers to compete to host major events.

The State Journal - Register reports that more than a dozen roofing’s at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield need repair or replacement. The fairgrounds also require an upgrade to its above-ground electrical system and repair works on roads covered with potholes.
